MR-Chess is the first true to reality over-the-board chess playing experience.
Take a seat at your real, physical table and play against your friends, random players or AI bots in different difficulties.
Our experimental mode allows you to play with your physical chess board. This includes the haptic sensation of moving your real chess pieces.
MR-Chess is available for Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest Pro and Meta Quest 2 in the Meta App-Lab.

Virtual Environment
Teleport yourself into a selected variety of virtual environments. This is especially relevant for Quest 2 users, who only have a black and white mixed reality experience.

Play a private game of chess with your friend by creating a passwort protected private game.

Increase your Elo-rating by winning chess matches against other players or solving complex chess puzzles.
About MR Chess
MR-Chess has been in development since 2022 and is based on an idea by Fabian Rücker from XR Consulting Rücker.
His first prototype made use of professional electronic DGT – Digital Game Technology chessboards, who offered technical support during the development.
To open the application for a broader user base XR Consulting Rücker teamed up with „Construction-Simulator“ developer weltenbauer. Software Entwicklung GmbH and advanced the project further in Q3 and Q4 2023.
